told "Today" that she was fired for being "too fat." Considering that she is 5' 10'' and weighs 120 pounds, some would say she is nearly perfect. Filippa Hamilton fits into a Size 4 and probably doesn't have an ounce of "fat" on her healthy body, but she told Ann Curry of "Today" that, nonetheless, Ralph Lauren had fired her for being "too fat" after working for the agency for eight years. Ralph Lauren issued a statement noting that Filippa Hamilton had been dismissed because of "an inability to meet the obligations of her contract." What did she do, refuse to starve herself? On "Today," Filippa Hamilton told Ann Curry, "They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes anymore." The model was released from her contract in April. It is kind of ironic twist for the model whose most recent controversy involved an altered photo where her head was wider than her hips, an emaciated big-headed photo that was far more disturbing than it was sexy. Used in a Ralph Lauren Blue Label ad, it appeared in Japan last week and received considerable criticism for its unhealthy and unappealing image. In their statement, Polo Ralph Lauren maintained that the Japanese photo ad was a mistake and not the approved image. "This error has absolutely no connection to our relationship with Filippa Hamilton."A digitally thinned version of Filippa Hamilton was issued but it had nothing to do with the model who they let go for not meeting her contractual obligations by weighing too much? Then that must be one amazing coincidence. Filippa Hamilton told the "Today Show" that Ralph Lauren owed "American women an apology, a big apology. I'm very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy." And there are many who are beginning to agree that the anorexic model look really is not that appealing. It certainly isn't realistic.

Filippa Palmstierna Hamilton, also known as Filippa Hamilton-Palmstierna, Filippa Palmstierna, and Filippa Hamilton (born 3 December 1985), is a Swedish-French supermodel.
Hamilton was born in Paris and raised in Biarritz, France. She was discovered age 15 on the streets of Paris by French photographer Marc Hispard. She secured her first major advertising campaign at age 16 with Ralph Lauren; she is the new face of Romance, Ralph Lauren’s fragrance, photographed by Bruce Weber. Hamilton has been photographed by Paolo Roversi, Mario Testino, Arthur Elgort, Inez van Lamsweerde, Terry Richardson and Gilles Bensimon.
In her free time, Hamilton enjoys painting and spending time with friends. She travels to fashion shows and photo shoots with her mother.
Hamilton is a French and Swedish national. Her father is Count Michaël Palmstierna Hamilton. He is the son of Count Ulph Hamilton and Baroness Margaretha Palmstierna, won the right to bear the Hamilton name and was recognized as a member of the Swedish nobility in 1999.[citation needed] As such, Hamilton is formally addressed as Countess Filippa Hamilton.
In 2009 Hamilton appeared in a Ralph Lauren advertisement which had been digitally edited to make her appear improbably thin. The ad was widely circulated and ridiculed on various blogs, especially after Ralph Lauren attempted to use DMCA notices to prevent its publication. Ralph Lauren subsequently apologized for the image, saying "We have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman’s body,".
Shortly after the photoshop controversy, Hamilton announced that she had been fired for being "too fat", saying the issue had moved her to speak out. She claimed to have received a letter stating "We’re terminating your services because you don’t fit into the sample clothes that you need to wear." Ralph Lauren, however, denied the accusation that they fired her because she was too large, saying that she was released "as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us."
